Websites for local businesses

A real website for your business. See it before you pay.

I build websites for local businesses. Yours comes first, as a free working concept at a private link. Love it? It's $299 flat, with 12 months of hosting. If not, you owe nothing.

Takes about a minute. No payment details, no sales call.

Example bakery website: Photo tiles of what's in store, Today's hours and directions right at the top, Tap-to-call and a map for people walking over.

Examples for made-up businesses, each laid out for its own customers. Yours is built from your own details.

How it works

Four steps. You decide at step three.

Everything happens by email, at your pace. No calls to schedule and nothing to sign before you've seen your website.

  1. 01

    Tell me about your business

Name, type of business, town and your email. It takes about a minute, and there's nothing to pay.

  2. 02

    I build your concept

A real, working multi-page website at a private link, laid out for your kind of business. It's clearly marked as a concept and hidden from search engines. It arrives by email, usually within a business day.

  3. 03

    You decide

Reply “yes”, tell me what you'd change, or simply ignore it. There's nothing to cancel and no follow-up calls.

  4. 04

    You're live

Send your details and photos, and I'll finish the site and walk you through pointing your domain at it. About 7 days from your yes.

What you get

Everything a local business needs, for one flat price.

The standard site is the same for everyone: a real multi-page website with the parts that get the phone to ring. Anything bigger is quoted separately, below.

$299one time

With 12 months of hosting included. No subscription and no contract. You pay only after you've seen your concept and said yes.

  • A real multi-page site

Home, Services (or Menu, or Classes), About and Contact, each on its own page. If there's not enough for an About page yet, I leave it out rather than make something up.

  • Tap-to-call and directions

A call button that stays in reach on every phone screen, plus a map and one-tap directions.

  • “Open today” hours

Built from your real opening hours, so people know at a glance whether to come by.

  • Phone-first and fast

Laid out for the small screen first, then scaled up for tablets and desktops.

  • Your photos first

Your own photos lead. Until you send them, licensed stock photos that fit your trade, credited properly.

  • Ready for search

A clear title, description and business details that search engines can read.

  • Secure hosting, 12 months

HTTPS and fast hosting, included in the price.

  • Yours to keep

Your domain and content stay yours, with 1 round of changes to the finished site and step-by-step help pointing your domain at it.

After the first yearAn optional $120 a year care plan covers hosting, security updates and small edits. It never renews automatically: I'll ask a month before your included hosting ends, and you can cancel any time by email. If you'd rather not, I'll help you move the site anywhere you like.

Specialized services

Need more than a standard site? I build that too.

Online ordering, a web shop, member logins, a forum, online booking: these are bigger projects. Each one is scoped with you, built for your business and quoted per project, so there is no price list here. The $299 site stays flat and separate.

Online ordering

Customers pick items, choose pickup or delivery, and send you the order. Built for bakeries, delis, caterers and anyone with a menu or a list of things people ask for.

Web shop

A product catalog with a cart and checkout, so you can sell to people who will never walk through your door. Built for makers, boutiques and shops with products to ship.

Member login

Accounts and sign-in, with pages only members, students or clients can see. Built for clubs, studios, schools and anyone with a private area.

Community forum

A place for customers, members or students to ask questions and talk to each other, with you in charge of what stays up.

Online booking

Appointments, classes or tables booked straight from the site, with times that match your hours. Built for salons, studios, clinics and anyone who lives by a calendar.

Something else?

If it isn't on this list, ask. I'll tell you honestly whether it's a good fit, and if it isn't, I'll say so.

How to ask for one: tick what you need on the form below. As we talk it through, I add a working demo to your concept so you can try the idea, then quote the real thing. A demo uses placeholder content, sends nothing anywhere and is never put on your live site. The real feature is built after you accept a quote.

Questions

Good questions, plain answers

Anything else? Email [email protected].

Kameron RobersonMaple Lane Web is a one-person studio. There's no sales team: anything that needs a person comes straight to me.
Why did I get an email from you?

I look at the public websites and map listings of local businesses. If yours had something fixable, like no phone layout, a security warning or no website at all, I built a concept and emailed it once, with at most one follow-up. Reply “no” or “unsubscribe” and you won't hear from me again. That address, and your business's own domain, won't be contacted.

What do you need from me?

Nothing for the concept. If you go ahead: the services or products to list (prices optional), a few photos, a couple of sentences about the business, and anything you'd like changed.

Can I ask for changes?

Yes. Before you order, I'll make up to 2 rounds of tweaks to the concept. Once you order, everything you send goes into the finished site, and you get 1 more round of changes once the finished site is ready.

Do I have to change my domain or email?

No. Your domain and email stay where they are. When you're ready, I send exact steps to point your domain at the new site. No domain yet? I'll help you pick and register one (usually $10–15 a year, paid to the registrar).

What if I change my mind after paying?

You get a full refund any time before your site goes live. Once it's live, the payment is non-refundable. The care plan never renews automatically, you can cancel it any time by email, and it stays active until the end of the paid year. Details are in Refunds & cancellation.

Is this automated?

Partly. I use automated tools to find and check websites, put together concepts and answer routine emails; I oversee the whole process. Replies only ever deal with your website and the offer, and anything unusual comes to me personally.
